Question 1: Where did the lady find the bear cub? How did she bring it up?

Answer:

The lady found a very small bear cub, half dead from hunger, in the forest.
Her cook and the lady only fed milk to the bear cub.


Question 2: The bear grew up but "he was a most amiable bear." Give three examples to prove this.

Answer:

The powerful bear never harmed anyone. From his kennel, he watched the cattle stocking in the field. When the dogs teased him and pulled his tail and car, he didn't say anything. Dogs and he shared the same plate.

 

Question 3: What did the bear eat? There were two things he was not allowed to do. What were they?

Answer:

Bears love fruits, but they were not permitted to climb apple trees to eat apples. His diet included bread, porridge, potatoes, cabbages, and turnips. Furthermore, he was not allowed to disturb the beehives or climb the trees.

 

Question 4: When was the bear tied up with a chain? Why?

Answer:

When the lady went to her sister's house on Sundays, she would tie up the bear with a chain at night. As a punishment for his mischief, he was tied up when he caused trouble with the beehives.


Question 5: What happened one Sunday when the lady was going to her sister's house? What did the lady do? What was the bear's reaction?

Answer:

Every Sunday, the lady went to her sister's house. When the woman was crossing the forest on a Sunday, a bear came up to her from behind. A lady thought it was her bear, so she scolded him for following her. After realizing that the bear's collar was not on his neck, she hit him on the nose with her parasol.

Bear was surprised by the lady's reaction and didn't understand it. Several times, he shook his head and opened his mouth as though he wanted to say something, but ultimately he turned around and left.

 

Question 6: Why was the bear looking sorry for himself in the evening? Why did the cook get angry with her mistress?

Answer:

Sunday afternoon, the bear had been chained up and was lonely without his mistress. That's why he looked so tense.
A cook became angry at her mistress for scolding a bear without any justification. His mistress was angry with him even though he behaved very well during her absence. Her cook did not know that she had met a bear on her way and had mistaken it for her bear.

Answer:

People keep a variety of unusual pets. There are also cocks, monkeys, tiger cubs, elephants, and bears.

 

Question 2: The second bear did not attack the lady because he was afraid of her. Do you agree?

Answer:

Bears are usually friendly and good-natured animals. They do not attack anyone unnecessarily. In times of danger, they become harmful.
I do not believe the bear was scared of the lady. In spite of the bear's misunderstanding, he knew that the lady never intended to harm him. Thus, he did not attack her.
