Writing

Question 1: Who do you think Mr. Nath is? Write a paragraph or two about him.

Answer:

Mr. Nath is an introvert man. I believe he lives alone because he doesn't have a family. It's possible he was injured in a fire accident that left him scarred. Because he had unpleasant scars, people might be afraid of him, which is why he didn't interact much with people around him, but he was certainly polite. The way he treats Ramesh and tips him is generous.
Nishad and Maya's mother was a doctor. He was one of their patients. He might not be feeling well, which is why he doesn't care about eating and looks like he's starving. Every Sunday, Mr. Nath has a visitor who is unlike him in every aspect and seems more social.

Question 2: What else do you think Nishad and Maya will find out about him? How? Will they ever be friends? Think about these questions and write a paragraph or two to continue the story.

Answer:

Maya and Nishad will discover that Mr. Nath is actually a nice man. When he was in the army, he had an accident that had left him with nasty scars. His family lives abroad, and he enjoys living on his own. His dislike of going out is because people stare at him a lot. He spends his day in his room reading books from a trunk full of books. One of Mr. Nath's Sunday visitors is his nephew, who works in the city and visits him whenever he can. Nishad and Maya find out about Mr. Nath's illness from their mother. Dust allergies affect him. Once a day, he goes for a walk early in the morning. Nishad and Maya become friends with him after satisfying their curiosity about him. The two of them began going to his room frequently in the evenings and enjoyed spending time with him.
